The Maryland Knights Basketball Program will host official tryouts for the upcoming season. Players will be evaluated by the coaching staff and invited to continue through the selection process based on performance, effort, and coachability.

Tryouts are open to boys within the 11U–17U age groups who are interested in competing for a roster spot with the Maryland Knights Basketball Program.
Players must attend the session that corresponds with their age group.

Tryouts are conducted over two dates:
February 1 – Open tryout for all registered players
February 8 – Invitation-only second tryout for selected players
Invitations to the second tryout will be extended based on evaluations from the first session.

No. The February 8 tryout is by invitation only. Not all players from the first tryout will advance to the second evaluation.

The tryout fee is $25 (non-refundable).
Payment is required in order to participate.
The tryout fee covers gym time, staffing, and evaluation resources.

Skill level and fundamentals
Basketball IQ and decision-making
Effort, attitude, and coachability
Competitive play in live-game situations
Ability to fit within a team concept

Roster sizes vary by age group but are typically 10–12 players per team. Selection is based on team needs, positional balance, and overall fit.

If invited to the second tryout on February 8, attendance is strongly encouraged for final evaluation.
